Grateful for funding for permanent Friday Harbor farmers market

I was overjoyed to read that the final state budget includes funding toward the purchase of the historic Friday Harbor Brick & Tile Co. on Nichols Street for a permanent farmers' market facility and — equally important, in my opinion — the upgrading of a dreary part of downtown.

In just a few years, I'm sure no one will believe we didn't always have this vibrant, busy community center.

Many thanks to Sen. Kevin Ranker, Rep. Jeff Morris, and Rep. Dave Quall for getting this funding into the state budget.
