Approve the Orcas Island Recreation District

This past July, more than 650 people signed a petition to place the Orcas Island Recreation District Proposal on the ballot. Now is the time to vote to approve the district.

We are fortunate that this district will have solid leadership. I have met with all of the commissioner candidates and I am impressed by their enthusiasm, interest and credentials. If you are unsure of what the district may be in the future, just talk to several of the commissioner candidates. Or, check out Island Rec on San Juan Island - it is a great example for what good leadership can do to promote recreation programs for people of all ages. www.islandrec.org

Recreation programs provide physical activity and mental challenges that promote a healthy lifestyle. This proposal reflects what I want for our community. Please join me and vote to approve the recreation district.
