I am writing in support of Carrie Lacher for mayor of Friday Harbor.

For many years, I lived in town in senior housing with my mother. This apartment complex is not far from where Carrie herself lives in an affordable-housing neighborhood.

Over the years I have known Carrie, I have come to appreciate her passion for town living and her commitment to those who often feel marginalized or overwhelmed by government.

I have also come to know Carrie through her community service at the library, at the Catholic Church, at the Food Bank and even at the Buddhist Center, where I relied on her for years to keep our books in good order.

I have lived on this island for 32 years. I have had businesses here, I have raised family here, I love being here. I know Carrie will be a hard-working, dedicated and compassionate mayor for Friday Harbor and I wholeheartedly endorse her candidacy. She is the mayor this town and this island need now and for our future.
