Free use of recycling set-ups for public events

Are you planning a public event for the islands? San Juan County’s Solid Waste Division has portable recycling set-ups to lend to organizations who want to increase recycling at public events.

Empty aluminum cans, glass and plastic beverage containers, paper and cardboard can all be collected together in the ClearStream bags. (No liquids, food or garbage, please!)

These containers are portable, easy to set-up (next to garbage cans), and the “see through” clear plastic bags allow users to see the results of their recycling efforts and to discourage contamination with non-recyclable trash items.

The public education they offer is a tremendous opportunity for a community to amp up its recycling success.

If you would like to borrow some ClearStream set-ups for your public event, please call 370-0503. You’ll save on disposal costs and help to conserve resources for our future!
