This crumb rubber issue has been and continues to be a long road to resolve. Acknowledgement needs to be made to the positive direction it has taken.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated group of parents and community members who have persisted and stayed the course through many hours of discussion and at their own expense in trying to provide an alternative underlayment for the Big Toy that will be healthy and accessible for all children.

I also appreciate and thank the School Board for listening, opening the issue up to discussion again, and their willingness to form a committee to resolve this situation.

It continues to be quite a process and it speaks to the integrity of this community.

All of you have made a difference in the health of the children, this island, and the environment.

Thank you,

Pamela Williams
