Letters to the Editor

Seeking support for worthy cause | Letters

When Mrs. Wilson first told us that we needed a community service project, I teamed up with my cousin Haide to brainstorm what we could do for our project.

We knew that we wanted to do something that had to do with our home country, Mexico. We wanted to make our community project global.

After thinking about it, we decided to help kids without a home. We choose “La Casa de Los Niños” orphanage because it’s in the city of Tepic, Nayarit, where both our moms were born.

The orphanage has 18 kids, 12 girls and six boys, ranging from 5 to 16 years. We held a bake sale last month to raise money to send gift bags filled with small toys, toothbrushes or any little thing that will make a kid smile.

If you would like to donate to our project, whether it’s a monetary contribution or a gift item, we would love your assistance. You may drop off your contribution at the Tucker House Inn by December 4th.

Any little thing helps and will be appreciated. Thank you.
