United Way of San Juan County provides generous support to many programs in San Juan County. One of those is the Readiness to Learn program – a partnership between the San Juan Island Family Resource Center and the San Juan Island School District.

The goal of “RTL”, as it is informally known, is to provide support to students and families so that all children will come to school ready to learn every day.

Major funding for this program comes through the state’s Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, but additional funding comes from our local United Way and helps fund activities for parents and youth that will strengthen individual educational goals and encourage emerging parent leaders.

Thank you, United Way donors, for your support of United Way’s community safety net. “It takes a village ...”
