Clarifications and Corrections | For the Record

— Information provided by Beth Williams Gieger, administrator of Inter Island Medical Center, regarding physician salaries was published as a letter to the editor in the Sept. 10 Journal. Gieger did not send the information as a letter, but as background for a correction to the story, “Rising cost of 24/7 care; Base salaries go up, as do on-call demands,” page 1A, Sept. 3 Journal.

— Dana Kinsey was identified as a planner for the San Juan Islands Conservation District in a story, “Company’s water ‘franchise’ request draws fire,” and in a letter to the editor, “No franchise for water,” in the Sept. 24 Journal.

She wrote the letter and spoke as a private citizen who lives in the proposed franchise area, and not as a Conservation District employee. Her opinions are her own and do not reflect the opinions of the Conservation District, its staff or its board of supervisors.

— Backdoor Kitchen was inaccurately identified in the column, “We love the market from A(sparagus) to Z(ucchini),” page 11A, Sept. 17 Journal.

In addition, farmers started the Farmers Market, not Grange members, as reported. And market manager Grisha Krivchenia’s name was misspelled.
