Village of the Harbour fundraiser

Submitted by the Village at the Harbour

The Village at the Harbour and Hospice of San Juan are hosting a rare fundraising event from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. This is a unique opportunity to come and celebrate the amazing work of this fantastic organization while enjoying one of the more interesting events you have been to in a long time.

Tickets may be purchased from the Village for $100 per person or $150 per couple.

This is an incredible opportunity to bid on artwork by talented local artists and support many of the local business that have provided their goods and services for our auction. With a barbecue run by Bill and Mary Ann Grewohl, additional food prepared by the amazing culinary team from the Village, to unbelievable auction items including a live auction hosted by one of our favorite local celebrities Alan Budwill, miniature horse photo opportunities and a bar with special cowboy flavored drinks and musical entertainment. We hope you will consider joining us for this special evening and help us raise much needed funds to continue the mission Hospice of San Juan lives every day.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of those with life-limiting illness by providing guidance and warm, loving, supportive help to a dying person and family, and to keep intact the dignity, integrity and personal choices of the individual. One of only a handful of all-volunteer hospice organizations in the country, Hospice of San Juan focuses on the needs of individuals and families trying to cope with the reality of death as an approaching part of life’s journey. We offer five main program areas: direct patient care and caregiver respite; grief support; community and volunteer education; Music and Memory matching; and durable medical equipment lending. Founded in 1984 by a group of dedicated island residents, we received nonprofit status in 1985 and Federal 501(c) status in 1993 and currently work both independently and alongside Medicare-funded hospice services that come from Skagit County.

For those that have been touched by Hospice- you already know and appreciate the incredible people, compassion, and care that is delivered daily to those in the final days of their lives. Each volunteer associated with Hospice of San Juan is an exceptional and compassionate lighthouse in an unsteady time, helping those in need to navigate the uncertain waters of death and dying. The number of islanders served by Hospice continues to grow and each dollar raised assists in providing much needed supplies and equipment while also providing vital training and support for the great local team of volunteers.
