Suspicious note creates ferry delays

A suspicious note was found aboard the Elwha ferry during its scheduled Sydney run on Sunday, May 21. The content of the note is not being released publicly at this time.

“Both Canadian and U.S. law enforcement inspected the vessel,” said Ian Sterling, Washington State Department of Transportation public information officer, adding that nothing out of the ordinary was found.

The Elwha continued its regular sailing, however, it was one and a half hours late, impacting the rest of the ferries on Sunday. All were running about 90 minutes behind. The WSTD posted an alert to ferry riders about the delays via its website.
