At approximately 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, career and volunteer firefighters from San Juan Island Fire and Rescue responded to a 911 report of a vehicle fire, adjacent to a residence in the Linde Park area of the Town of Friday Harbor that was extending to the residence.

At the time of arrival, fire crews found that all occupants had safely evacuated the home. The vehicle was fully engulfed in fire and the fire extended into the garage and residence attic spaces. As firefighters began operations, the fire compromised the roof structure.

The fire was extinguished, but the home suffered significant damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The residents who were displaced were helped by the American Red Cross into a temporary shelter.

There were no injuries and fire units have been returned to service.
