Have you or has someone you know had a tough time finding an affordable place to live in San Juan County? Let’s talk about it and find solutions together at an affordable housing town hall from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 9 at the San Juan County Fairgrounds main building at 849 Argyle Ave.

San Juan County experts and officials will take questions from the community in a town hall format about the affordable housing issue in San Juan County.

The event calls for all rental seekers, wannabe home buyers, homeowners, vacation rental owners, property managers, business owners, and community members. There will be door prizes and free refreshments and food.

The panelists include: Erika Shook, director of San Juan County Community Development; Ryan Page, San Juan County affordable housing coordinator; Steve Ulvi, San Juan Island Action Committee for Housing Solutions; Lisa Byers, OPAL Community Land Trust executive director; Sandy Bishop, Lopez Community Land Trust; Ron Krebs, San Juan County sheriff; Ashley Strutz, Family Resource Center; Bill Watson, San Juan County Council; Farhad Ghatan, mayor of Friday Harbor; Homes for Islanders staff; and home trust staff.
