Gary Roger Smith was born June 29, 1943 in Riverside, Calif. and died April 4, 2013 in Friday Harbor, Washington.

His parents were Glenn and Lucy Smith of Riverside. He attended Poly High School and five years of technical school.

He worked for many years in the heating, air conditioning and sheet metal industries. Gary and his wife Linda moved to Friday Harbor in 1993, upon his retirement. He was a 10-year member of Friday Harbor Kiwanis Club.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Frank of Riverside.

He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Nannette Preciado (Jim), and grandchildren Shane and Courtney Smith and Rob and Lauren Preciado.

He leaves behind his church family at Friday Harbor Seventh-Day-Adventist church and many loving friends.

His memorial service is set for Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at Friday Harbor Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 76 Gilbert Lane, Friday Harbor.
