Turn on your tap and water comes out. But how does it get there?

And when water goes down the drain and when you flush the toilet, where does the water go?

Friday Harbor Elementary School fifth-graders know. They went on a field trip April 15 to Trout Lake, the water treatment plant and the wastewater treatment plant, and followed water's path from sky to lake to treatment plant to tap to wastewater treatment plant to harbor.

Follow them on their journey with Journal Multimedia Reporter Jane K. Fox's video report of their field trip.
