White announces campaign for second term as county clerk; 17 positions on 2010 ballot

San Juan County Clerk Joan P. White has announced she plans to seek re-election this year.
The primary is Aug. 17; the general election is Nov. 2.
"It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of San Juan County as clerk since 2007," White said in an e-mailed announcement. "I am devoted to my work, and if re-elected, am committed to ensuring that the clerk’s office continues to meet the needs of our citizens and the challenges of the future with competence, efficiency and enthusiasm."
There are 17 positions on the ballot this year. Islanders will vote for:
— U.S. Senator (Patty Murray's position)
— U.S. Representative, District 2 (Island, King, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom)
— 40th District Representative, Position 1 (San Juan, Skagit, Whatcom)
— 40th District Representative, Position 2 (San Juan, Skagit, Whatcom)
— San Juan County Prosecuting Attorney
— San Juan County Council Member 2 (San Juan North)
— San Juan County Council Member 5 (Orcas East)
— San Juan County Council Member 6 (Lopez/Shaw)
— San Juan County Assessor
— San Juan County Auditor
— San Juan County Clerk
— San Juan County District Court Judge
— San Juan County Sheriff
— San Juan County Treasurer
— Washington State Supreme Court, Position 1
— Washington State Supreme Court, Position 5
