Meet the candidates who want your vote in November. Find out how they stand on the issues that matter to you.

The League of Women Voters of the San Juans has scheduled two general election forums Oct. 11.

The first forum of the day will be on Orcas Island for Orcas and Shaw residents, at the Senior Center, from 9:15-11:15 a.m.

The second forum will be at Friday Harbor Middle School from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for San Juan Island and Lopez Island residents. The fall ferry schedule to and from the islands coordinates with these times.

All candidates running for the following positions have been invited: U.S. House of Representatives, 2nd District; State Senate, 40th District; state representative, Position 1; state representative, Position 2; County Council, San Juan South; County Council, Orcas West; County Council, Town of Friday Harbor.

Orcas Island will have representatives speaking about the two propositions for the Eastsound Sewer and Water District regarding an increase in the number of commissioners and the annexation of Orcas Village.

The format for these forums will feature candidates’ statements followed by questions from the audience.
