No change reported in San Juan School District and teachers' union dispute | Schools may not open Tuesday

As of Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. there is no change to report in the negotiations between the school district and the teachers' union.

In a release from Superintendent Rich Thompson Friday, the two side were to negotiate over the weekend in an attempt to avert a work stoppage by teachers Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The Journal will be checking with the parties and if there is settlement or stoppage it will be posted as soon as possible.
