The Journal of the San Juan Islands hosts a mini-forum featuring the candidates for Superior Court judge today, 5 and 6 p.m., at The Journal booth in the main exhibit hall.

Prosecuting Attorney Randall K. Gaylord and Superior Court Judge John O. Linde are vying for a four-year term as San Juan County's first elected Superior Court judge. The judge presides over cases involving family law, felonies, and land use, among others. The salary is $146,832, half of which is paid by the state, half by the county. The election will be decided in Tuesday's primary.

The mini-forum will be recorded for broadcast on Public Access Channel 19. The mini-forum will include time for questions from the audience.
