US Customs to hold town hall meeting about pending move to FH Center

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will hold a town hall meeting, Monday, Nov. 25, in response to public concern over the pending relocation of the U.S. Customs headquarters in Friday Harbor.

Customs is slated to move from the Port of Friday Harbor and into ground floor office spaceFH Center at Friday Harbor Center, at the intersection of First and Spring streets, sometime next year.

The two-hour town hall meeting will be at the San Juan Island Fire Department station, 1011 Mullis St., beginning at 11 a.m.

Meanwhile, an ad hoc group of islanders will conduct a town hall meeting of their own Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Brickworks, to discuss impacts and concerns  of Customs pending relocation into the "core" of the town.
