Gregoire backs Linde, becomes honorary chair
Gov. Christine Gregoire has reaffirmed her choice of John Linde as San Juan County’s Superior Court judge by becoming honorary chairwoman of the Committee to Retain Judge Linde.
Gregoire appointed Linde to the position last year when it was created by the Legislature.
Superior Court judges serve four-year terms and are paid $148,832, half of which is paid by the state. Candidates are Randy Gaylord, county prosecuting attorney; and Linde, a former District Court judge and Friday Harbor-based attorney.
Linde was recently appointed by the Superior Court Judges Association to the Best Practices Committee and the Rural Judges Committee.
