Tulalip donates $5,000 to United Way
The Tulalip Tribes Foundation has donated $5,000 to the United Way of San Juan County.
Local United Way director Bonnie Gilmore said the foundation granted the full amount requested by the chapter. This is an increase of $2,000 over the 2007 grant, the local United Wayâs first from Tulalip.â¯
The Tulalip Tribes have historical ties to the San Juan Islands and own land on Lopez Island. In addition, one of its employees, senior fisheries management biologist Kit Rawson, is chairman of the San Juan County Marine Resources Committee.
