Library closes Monday for computer system upgrade

San Juan Island Library will be closed Monday, July 30, as part of an ongoing transition to a new information system.

The closure is intended to allow library staff to explore and practice with the new information system, WorldShare Management Service, offered through affiliation with the Online Computer Library Center. The new information system is expected to save money and allow patrons to more easily find resources online.

The closure will not affect Monday's scheduled Yoga Workshop for teens, which meets in the library meeting room; participants will enter through the side door of the meeting room.

be reopen Tuesday, July 31, and library officials anticipate the WMS system will be operating if the transition proceeds as planned.
