Join the County Council on a tour of San Juan wetlands, May 7

Members of the San Juan County Council will tour selected wetlands on San Juan Island, Monday, May 7, as part of its information-gathering process on issues involved in the critical areas ordinance update.

The Council will begin the day early, convening at 8:45 a.m. in the Council hearing room to review the Planning Commission’s draft of the wetlands section of the CAO. The tour begins after a short break for lunch.

The public is welcome to attend, however, parking at some of the locations is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. The council asks attending the tour to be respectful of the properties and landowners offering access to their wetlands.

Those planning to join the tour should gather at the council hearing room, 55 Second Street, in Friday Harbor, by 12:15 p.m. Directions and information will be provided at that time. The tour is expected to last until 5 p.m., or so.
