Snow and a sled, and a day off from school? Children take to the street of Friday Harbor — sleds in tow — to frolic in Wednesday's downpour of snow.

List of Wednesday events canceled because of snow

Wednesday's cancellations.

— Community dinner and high school students' project exhibitions.

— Island Rec programs: Active Senior Fitness, Study Time and Afternoon Recreation (STAR), Teen Drop in Recreation(TREC), and badminton and ping pong.

— Meeting of San Juan hospital district  board of directors.

— All three branches of Islanders Bank, and its administrative offices, will close at 3 p.m.

Thursday's meeting of the San Juan County Parks and Recreation Commission has been postponed, because of weather. The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 26, in the county's legislative conference room, 55 Second Street, Friday Harbor.
