6.7 earthquake off the north coast of Vancouver Island

At 12:41 p.m., an 6.7 earthquake struck at a depth of 14.3 miles (23 kilometers) near Port Alice off the north coast of Vancouver Island about 175 miles west of Vancouver.

The Tsunami Warning Center in Alaska said there are no warnings or watches in effect.
