San Juan County property owners will have a two-day grace period in meeting the deadline this year's first-half property tax payments.

The due date for first-half payments is April 30, however, since that date falls on a Saturday, payments can be made the following Monday, May 2, without interest or penalty, according to Treasurer Jan Sears.

Payments submitted with a post-mark of May 2 will also be accepted as having met the first-half deadline, and without penalty or interest.

The Treasurer's office is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. From information, contact the Treasurer at (360) 378-2171, visit
