Friday Harbor running back Micah Powell ran 55 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the Wolverines on the scoreboard and keep the team's hopes alive.

But Orcas Vikings running back Michael Longworthy followed up with a touchdown of his own — his second of the night — to seal the Vikings' Island Cup victory, 21-6 Friday at Friday Harbor.

Vikings quarterback Robbie Padbury scored his second touchdown of the game with a 5-yard run in the third quarter, and Longworthy scored a 2-point conversion to extend the Vikings' lead to 15-0.

Padbury scored a touchdown on an 11-yard run 3 minutes 44 seconds into the first quarter, then kicked the extra point to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead.

Kickoff was at 6:45 p.m. Reporter Scott Rasmussen estimated a crowd of about 300 enthusiastic fans, with a large contingent from Orcas Island.

Friday Harbor defensive back Donny Galt picked off a couple of Padbury passes to thwart two likely Viking touchdowns in the first quarter, and the Vikings went into the half with a 7-0 lead. Friday Harbor middle linebacker Cody West was ejected from the game for a couple of personal fouls.
