20th Century Fox buys rights to Colton Harris-Moore story

Variety reports the film about the notorious burglar is called "Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw."

A Cape San Juan home was reportedly burglarized — neighbors said it occurred late May 13/early May 14 — and a 24-foot boat on the homeowner's private dock was stolen. Neighbors said the boat was later found grounded on Shark Reef. The Sheriff's Department reported in a press release May 14 that the boat was "beached."

Sheriff releases new images believed to be Colton Harris-Moore
A series of shots taken on May 15 at Spencer May 26 2010, 3:01 PM The San Juan County Sheriff's Department on Wednesday released stills from a surveillance video they believe shows suspected "Barefoot Burglar" Colton Harris-Moore about to steal a boat from a Lopez Island marina earlier this month.

The images were recorded at 1:39 a.m. May 15, when a 30-foot boat was stolen from Spencer's Landing Marina. They show a young man moving about on the dock near where the vessel was taken.

"These current images are the only images available, and the public needs to be aware of his appearance as of Saturday, May 15," Sheriff Bill Cumming said. "This is the best picture available."
