—If I subscribe to OPALCO broadband, must my computer be on 24/7 in order to receive calls? Who do I call if I have an internet connection issue? What are the software and hardware maintenance responsibilities of an OPALCO subscriber? If I sign up for OPALCO broadband, who do I call if I have no dial tone? I hope answers to these questions, and others, come soon.
Town climbs onboard Brickworks bandwagon

The San Juan Islands Agricultural Guild, owner of Brickworks, last week announced receipt of a $100,000 matching grant from the Town of Friday Harbor, allocated by way of the town lodging tax fund. Under terms of the agreement, the grant is earmarked for capital expenditures and facility related improvements, and will be issued as matches to other private or public donations, or grants or gifts toward the project.

As for the notion that the CAO process was not micromanaged by Ecology, I suggest that Ms. Alderton take the opportunity to review the public records that show the constant communication between the county, CDPD and Ecology from the very beginning of the CAO process, with CDPD and its consultants repeatedly asking Ecology what to do.

The purpose of the festival is two-fold: to attract visitors to the island in the fall shoulder season, and to raise awareness about the San Juans' Pacific Rim neighbors and the world. In addition, it is an opportunity to have professional filmmakers educate and inspire islanders and visitors of all ages in the art of filmmaking.
