Mark Shinman's derby-leading catch was among the 100 fish hooked, reeled in and weighed in the first day of the tournament, which features a $10,000 cash prize for the biggest fish. Anglers braved hail, sleet and strong winds on Day 1 of the derby, according to Kevin Klein of Puget Sound Anglers Friday Harbor Chapter, sponsor of the event.
