Born at Island Hospital, Anacortes, at 4:58 p.m., Owen Carl weighed six pounds, three ounces at birth, and was 19-inches in length. He is the son of Danielle and Kevin Kindelberger and joins siblings Elsa, 8, Luke, 6 and Jude, 4, in the family's Friday Harbor home.

I have one major objection to the Master Plan as presented: the aesthetic is quite Space Age... Friday Harbor is a 100-year-old seaside village, not a research hub for NASA. I would like to see fewer “cold steel rails” and more wood (sustainably harvested).

Hemp Next? Senate Bill 5954 would let the state Department of Agriculture immediately start providing licenses to grow hemp, but SB 6214 would only allow licensing if the study determines a hemp industry would be profitable. Lawmakers now have to figure out how to reconcile the bills.

If the CAO takes effect March 31, permit applications filed before March 31 will be considered under the laws and regulations in effect before CAO updates were passed in 2012. After March 31, plans and applications will be considered under the new law, including amendments presently being considered and which are expected to be approved March 5.

Aaron D'Errico says town Administrator Duncan Wilson and Mayor Carrie Lacher needed little convincing to help make town streets safer and navigating across the street easier for those with mobility challenges.
