Steve McMurtrie and LaVon Sonnek are proud to announce the marriage of their daughter, Mariah McMurtrie (Friday Harbor High School Class of 2004) to Kyle Hughes of Snohomish.

They married on June 24 in an intimate morning ceremony in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. It was followed by a reception in Portland, Ore.

The couple met while studying at the University of Washington. They will be relocating to Indiana, where Kyle will pursue his doctorate in astrodynamics at Purdue University and Mariah will pursue a master's in education and policy studies.
