A commemorative page in Wednesday's Journal of the San Juan Islands honors the mayors of Friday Harbor — from Gene Gould (1909-10) to Carrie Lacher (2010-).

The keepsake page was developed to commemorate the election of the first woman mayor of Friday Harbor, which is celebrating its centennial this year.

This week's Journal has updated election coverage, Opinion, Obituaries, Sports, Island Scene, What's Happening, Island Books, Mary Frances Crossword, PNW Marketplace, At Your Service Professional Directory, Public Notices, and Real Estate in the San Juans.

The Journal is mailed Wednesdays, but available late Tuesdays in stores and at newsstands. For convenient delivery by mail, call 378-5696.
