Editor's note: The ride coupon on Paradise Amusements' Web site will not be honored at the fair. Paradise Amusements is under contract with the San Juan County Fair, and those coupons were not approved by the fair in advance, Fair Manager Rev Shannon said. Only those coupons and premiums in this corrected story will be honored.

This year's San Juan County Fair is a little easier on the pocketbook.

The Palace Theater in Friday Harbor is making available a limited number of free youth admission tickets to the San Juan County Fair.

Each day of the fair, the Palace Theater will give away tickets at the theater from 8:30-11 a.m., or until the day’s supply is gone, whichever is sooner. Each person can pick up a ticket only for him or herself.

Youth tickets are valid for children ages 5-16. Children younger than 5 get into the fair for free.

There will be 200 tickets available the first day of the fair, 100 on Thursday and Friday, and 125 on Saturday.

Priority will be given on Saturday to youth from islands other than San Juan Island.

Kids Day is Thursday and Friday. Buy a wristband for the youngsters for $20 and they can ride all the rides they want from noon to 5 p.m.

In addition, Paradise Amusements is offering a free stick of cotton candy with the purchase of a wrist band any day of the fair. The coupon is available on ParadiseAmusements.com and in The Daily Fair.
