Never mind the weather, San Juan Island Grange No. 966 is headed back into the garden in the next installment of its Fall Lecture Series.

Island author Jim Nollman will read from his book, "Why We Garden", and talk about his personal approach to gardening in the next episode of the Grange Fall Lecture, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Grange Hall in Friday Harbor, beginning at 7 p.m.

The presentation will be preceded by a potluck, 6 p.m.

Nollman will read an assortment of passages from his book, including an excerpt about medicinal herbs and "The Sentient Garden."
