Here is your opportunity to get to know the trails of San Juan Island better.

Eileen Drath of the San Juan Trails Committee is coordinating a series of 10 walks called, "Know Your Island". The walks will take place the fourth Saturday of each month.

This Saturday, Jan 22, is the first, and it will cover the Frazer Homestead Trail.

Mike Vouri, historian and chief of interpretation of San Juan Island National Historical Park, will lead the walk. Vouri will provide information on the historical and cultural background of the surrounding land.

The walk is free and open to the public. It spans 3.5 miles, and the trail may be wet and muddy. The overall rating of the walk is "easy." Meet at American Camp Visitor Center, 1 p.m.
