Whale Museum offers free admission for Valentine’s Day

Submitted by The Whale Museum

All admission fees at The Whale Museum will be waived during the weekend, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Feb. 10 through Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. Self-guided tour booklets will be available to help you navigate through the exhibit hall.

“We love our community, we love our museum, we want to get the two of you together,” said a museum representative.

Stop by The Whale Museum between 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10 to create a paper Granny square. Granny was the roughly century-old matriarch of the Southern resident killer whales’ J pod and was recently reported as missing and likely deceased. Squares will be combined and displayed as a quilt at Granny’s tribute event at Brickworks on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Whale Museum will be closed during the tribute. For more information, call 360-378-4710 ext. 30.

The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N. For more information, visit www.whalemuseum.org.
