Sprint into the new year with health and fitness at Island Rec’s 4th annual Resolution Run/Walk 5k on Jan. 1. The event costs $10 for ages 16 and over and ages 15 and under are free. Registration includes a hat.

The event starts at 10 a.m. at Jackson Beach. The route ends there too, so participants can also enjoy an icy dip in the Salish Sea after if they’d like. Fires will be built, and light refreshments will be available. Make sure to bring a change of clothes if you plan on splashing.
