San Juan County Fair to feature Yes’ Alan White, ‘America’s Got Talent’ acrobats

The San Juan County Fair entertainment for 2018 will appeal to all ages and genre lovers.

Headliners

This year includes Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Alan White of Yes and John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band fame performing with the 20-plus piece Seattle Rock Orchestra. Other entertainers include the world’s greatest Jimi Hendrix tribute guitarist Randy Hansen; locally based international folk duo Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer; DJ Supa Sam, the official Seahawks DJ; and comedy with Andrew Rivers.

In addition, the winner and runner-up of MoPop and KEXP Sound Off Competition Micaiah Sawyer and Maiah Wynne, plus NPR Tiny Desk Concert artist Chaquis Maliq will perform as supporting acts.

Family acts

There will be an ongoing variety of family-friendly entertainment all week with Zuzu African Acrobats from “America’s Got Talent”; mentalist Brian Ledbetter; street performer and magician Chase the Entertainer; and Wren and Della, circus variety. Also returning are fair favorites such as the Trashion Fashion Show, Fair Feud and local entertainment including The Chameleons, Uncle Otto, Crow Valley String Band and more.

Lunch series

New this year will be a lunch concert from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., daily. This will include Brazilian music with Choroloco and a variety of other genres. Workshops

The performers will also provide workshops for kids in performance, songwriting, musicianship, DJ lessons and modern dance. Times and locations will be announced on www.sjcfair.org.
