Salish Sea Early Music Festival on King 5

Submitted by the Salish Sea Early Music Festival.

Dear friends of period instrument renditions of obscure and familiar music from six centuries on San Juan Island and around the Salish Sea!

A portion of the Canzona program with Marsh, Lenti and Cohan is to be heard on NorthWest Focus Live! on KING-FM at 98.1 FM. on June 9 at 7 p.m.

For 12 years the Salish Sea Early Music Festival has provided world-class period instrument performances with musicians from Europe, all around the United States, Canada and the Pacific Northwest. We bring explorations of musical genres that have never been experienced in performance by any other musical groups around the world. As we are committed to providing an opportunity for everyone in the community to experience this music regardless of contribution, our suggested donation is truly a free-will offering and those 18 and under are free. We have no administrative expenses. With such low overhead and due to the collaborative nature of this enterprise, all donations through July equally benefit each and every musician who has participated in our 2023 festival since January, and nothing else! We appreciate your additional financial support in order that we might adequately compensate these fabulous artists for their efforts and time away from busy performance schedules and for their travel expenses.

These performers are passionate explorers of little-known musical realms, and we are excited that you share our enthusiasm. Please help ensure that we continue to be on the forefront of early music activity all around the Salish Sea. Donations to SSEMF, now a 501(c)3 organization, are fully tax deductible. In addition, we are proud to continue as an affiliate organization of Early Music America, which develops, strengthens, and celebrates early music and historically informed performance in North America. Your participation through an additional donation of any amount gives us the final lift that enables this cooperative endeavor.

With many thanks to you, to Brickworks and to our friend Claude Bauret Allard in Paris for her beautiful pastel Aurore.

Jeffrey
