The exhibition John F. Heric Retrospective: More than Meets the Eye will run at the San Juan Island Museum of Art, on Saturday, Dec. 10. to Feb. 18.

John F. Heric (1942 – 2011) was a professor of art, accomplished musician and resident of San Juan Island. His creative imagination, skillful mastery of materials, and unique sense of humor are evident in this entertaining but powerful, retrospective exhibition. Using familiar forms and a play on words, he changed commonly accepted ideas and assumptions into poignant, figurative groupings with understated, dry humor.
