Local Pat O’Day honored in state exhibit

A local legendary disc jockey is featured in an exhibit curated by the Washington Secretary of State.

Pat O’Day, of San Juan Island, has been featured in the collection “1968: The Year That Rocked Washington,” which includes online stories and an exhibit in the state capital through the rest of the year.

The website states that O’Day, a former KJR DJ and concert promoter “was the king of Seattle radio in 1968, the year he welcomed Jimi Hendrix back home for his Seattle concert and an appearance at Garfield High School.”
