Learn how to volunteer at The Whale Museum

Submitted by Whale Museum

The Whale Museum is holding a series of open houses for anyone interested in volunteering with the organization’s education department. The open house events will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, and from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6.

Those with spare time and who are interested in the local marine ecosystem will find this to be the perfect opportunity. Education department staff will be available to discuss volunteer opportunities and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.

Onsite volunteer opportunities include becoming a docent to educate visitors and youth about marine mammals as well as serving as preschool and elementary teaching assistants. No experience is necessary; training will be provided. Scheduling can be flexible although most school groups typically visit the museum from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on weekdays.
