Learn how to join San Juan Islands Girl Scouts

The Girl Scouts of Western Washington will host a drop-in event on from 6:30-8 p.m., Friday, May 4 at the San Juan Island Library at 1010 Guard St. in Friday Harbor. Families and girls in grades K-12, as well as those entering kindergarten in the fall, are welcome to come and discover opportunities to join or volunteer with Girl Scouts. Beyond troop participation, Girl Scouts can access programs that include camping, Lego Robotics, travel (both domestic and international), and a wide variety of other activities. Experienced Girl Scout leader Chanda Stone recently moved to the San Juans with her family and is looking forward to starting Troop 46486 with families on San Juan Island. Girl Scouts of Western Washington is non-partisan and secular, diverse and inclusive and serves over 25,000 girls in Washington. Financial assistance is available based on the free or reduced lunch guidelines.
