Girls Scouts’ “Adventures in Slime” workshop

Submitted by organizers

Girl Scouts of Western Washington is sharing its “Adventures in Slime” workshop with girls on Orcas, Lopez and San Juan islands in the first week of May.

Events are at the following times and locations:

• Thursday, May 2, 3:30-5 p.m., Lopez Island Library.

• Friday, May 3, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Eastsound Fire Station.

• Sunday, May 5, 1-2:30 p.m., San Juan Island Grange.

Girls in prekindergarten and up are invited to come out with their families and have some fun as they experiment with chemistry. A Girl Scout membership is not required for these events, and information on joining or forming a troop will be available. With the exponential growth in Girl Scouting in the San Juans over the past year, Girl Scouts of Western Washington is offering these free workshops as a way of providing accessible programming to their new troops, and as a way of sharing opportunities with the public. Many girls will benefit from the 10 new volunteers who are sharing their time and talents with the girls in San Juan County. Since the founding of the Girl Scout movement more than a century ago, Girl Scouting has grown to include nearly 2 million girl members and more than 50 million Girl Scout alums.

To participate in one of our local events, RSVP to Lynda Williams at LWilliams@GirlScoutsWW.org or 360-658-8083 or through the Facebook events page at https://www.facebook.com/SanJuanGirlScout.
