Cinderella performances canceled

Submitted by San Juan Community Theatre.

San Juan Community Theatre has been advised by the San Juan County Health Department to notify the public of COVID-19 exposure at the Cinderella performances on Thursday, May 12, and Friday, May 13. A number of cast and crew from the production tested positive for COVID-19 during the weekend following the performances. As a result, SJCT has canceled Cinderella performances from May 14 through May 22. People who attended the invited dress rehearsal on May 12 and the opening night performance on May 13 are advised to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and take precautions as needed. While all ticket holders have been notified via email, there are some patrons who may have purchased with cash or for whom SJCT does not have a valid email address. The following performances are still scheduled to occur: The Metropolitan Opera’s HD presentation of Turandot, 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21 and The Tenors with Jens Lindemann, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 26. All staff working these performances have tested negative for COVID-19 and are following required masking guidelines.
