The grand opening of the Orca Survey Outreach and Education Center will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at the education center, located at 185 S. First St. in downtown Friday Harbor. A ribbon cutting ceremony will kick off the event at 11:30 a.m. Afterward, and throughout the day, there will be demonstrations of the exciting exhibits, including the latest footage from the Center for Whale Research’s drone, interactive photo ID programs and the center’s new app.

The Center for Whale Research staff will be on hand to show attendees around and answer questions about the whales.
