Flutist Jeffrey Cohan and harpsichordist Hans-Jürgen Schnoor will perform the sonatas for flute and harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach in Bach’s Flute Sonatas on Sunday, 2 p.m. March 24, at Brickworks, 150 Nichols St. in Friday Harbor.

Schnoor is a professor at the Conservatory of Music in Lübeck, Germany, and former organist at the St. Marien Kirche. Schnoor has performed the Goldberg Variations 120 times. Cohan is artistic director of the Salish Sea Early Music Festival and has worked with Schnoor for over three decades.

The Salish Sea Early Music Festival presents eight performances on San Juan Island and around the Salish Sea of early chamber music performed on period instruments. The festival has hosted countless first performances in modern times of period instrument renditions of early works, and is proud to be an affiliate organization of Early Music America, which develops, strengthens and celebrates early music and historically informed performance in North America.
