APS shares Zazu’s Parrot Sanctuary gift

Submitted by the Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor

On Saturday, Dec. 17, the Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor shared their generous donation of 30 plush cat and dog toys received from Zazu’s House Parrot Sanctuary with the San Juan Island Kiwanis club. Each year the local Kiwanis club organizes and administers the San Juan Island toy drive to benefit island children in need.

In the spirit of giving, APS-FH decided the beautiful plush toys should be a shared gift with island children. The Kiwanis toy drive was a natural fit. Gina Sandwith, longtime APSH-FH board member and longtime Kiwanis club member was contacted and the toys were delivered.

APS-FH, a private non-profit animal welfare organization, proudly serves the people and animals of San Juan Island with their programs of community outreach, advocacy and adoption services to ensure animal protection and companionship. Adding a pet to your home over the holidays is a major family decision and should be done with great thought and sincere commitment. If you are considering adoption, please contact our office.
