Acoustic band celebrates solstice at San Juan Island Grange

Submitted by event organizers

For thousands of years, cultures all over the world have gathered to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of a new cycle. The winter solstice is a time that is not separated by religion, nationality or belief system but simply honoring of the greater rhythms that encompass all creatures and beings.

On Saturday, Dec. 22, the Sea Stars will kick off this celebration with their performance “Return of the Sun” at San Juan Island Grange hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The dreamy, acoustic band is based in Seattle and comprised of Kurt Baumann and Katie Gray.

Most recently, the two performers played live on the NBC Today radio show on Sirius XM with Hoda Kotb. As exciting as New York City was, they are happy to bring their original songs to the beloved islands they call home for a magical and sacred occasion.

Tickets are $15 each and available at the door or online at www.returnofthesun.ticketleap.com/2018.
